Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that the concept of "life coaching" might be new to some. Here are some FAQ's that can help you know what to expect and reduce anxiety in the process.
If you have questions that aren't answered below, just sign up for a free consultation and your coach will be happy to answer any questions you have. We want you to be comfortable with the process!
How is Life Coaching Different from Counseling?
Life Coaching is similar to counseling, but counseling almost always requires a "diagnosis" for you to receive services. A mental health evaluation is required and a prescribed treatment plan is in place at all times. This is largely dictated by the insurance industry, who views people who need counseling as having a "medical necessity." We believe this is detrimental to the counseling relationship, because it labels the consumer as having an illness. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to and process with without the BS of the red tape that comes with professional counseling. Our coaches have the same training as licensed counselors, they just refuse to be bound by silly standards that exclude many people from getting help.
Will insurance pay for Life Coaching?
Unfortunately, Life Coaching is not covered by insurance companies, largely because of the constraints they dictate as described above. Some FSA's and HSA's will reimburse all or some of your expenses for life coaching. Ask your coach for help in submitting required paperwork. We're happy to help!
How much does coaching cost?
Getmeunstuck.org uses simple, straightforward pricing. We charge $129 per hour long session, regardless of the topic. You choose the frequency and number of sessions you want. You can start and stop the process as you feel is helpful. Having a rough week? Maybe check with your coach 2 or 3 times. Having a great month? Don't schedule any sessions at all. We're here for you when you need us and won't pester you when you don't.
What will we talk about?
Again, we cater your needs and your desires. We have no agenda other than to help you navigate whatever challenges arise in your life. Your coach will help you sort through your thoughts and set goals if you so desire, but we will never impose what we think is best for you. Rather, we will help you identify and pursue a great future. After all, the best expert on your life and your experiences is YOU.
